The PYLES that I am interested in lived in the District of Columbia and in Prince George County area of Maryland. I know very little about them however, and have not been able to find out much about ancestors before the time of my great grandfather. My great grandfather was John Thomas Donaldson Pyles who owned many grocery stores in the District of Columbia during the early part of this century. His father Thomas E. Pyles was a Union Soilder during the Civil War and died on December 8, 1867. He and quite a few other Pyles are buried in Congressional Cemetery in Washington D.C. John Thomas Donalson Pyles had a sister, Marian O. Pyles who was a graduate in medicine and surgery from Howard University, and who taught physiology in the Brooklyn High School, in Brooklyn, NY. I am interested in finding out more about Marian O. Pyles, and perhaps finding out if any records from Howard University pertaining to her from the late 1800's still exist. And of course I am interested in the ancestory of Thomas E. Pyles. Thomas E. Pyles was born 18 March 1822 Thomas E. Pyles married Elizabeth A. Walker 19 Nov 1850. Marion O. Pyles was born 30 Sept 1853. Marion O. Pyles died in November 1920. I would appreciate all the help anyone would care to offer. Thank you..... Bill
