    3. Sara, Samuel Pyle and Charity were my ggg grandparents. His brother, John Pyle married Mary Maxwell. They both were in Oglethorpe Co. GA on the 1800 census. It is said they came from SC in the late 1790's. We do not have any proof of parents of John and Samuel nor siblings. Those who have posted that a Samuel PILE and his wife SARAH ? were their parents have offered no documentation of that. I've tried to research ALL Pyles/Piles in NC, SC, and GA. and have come up with so many Samuels and John's that it isn't funny anymore. There are several more on this list from both Sameul/Charity and John/Mary lines. Terri in GA has been sending me some VERY INTERESTING records lately. Maybe they will prove out to be as successful as our Kilgore discovery ! Those of you who are TEXIANS should go to Washington-on-the-Brazos. We went this week-end and it was fantastic! Of course, I didn't find John's name on any plaques, but just knowing he was there in the middle of things was a heart wrenching experience, especially knowing they lived through the Run-away Scrape. This group has been pretty calm lately, guess it's time to 'liven' it up, huh? Doris
