I copied them looking for a clue to see if they were related to my Pyle line who spent a short (10 years) time in Washington County from about 1795-1805. These are the ones I have. Nathan Pyle written Feb. 13, 1832, probated Sept. 10, 1836. He leaves his belonging to: his daughter Phebe Maxon, grandaughter Lydia Baker , wife Martha, and four sons Curtis, George P., P.William and John. The witnesses were William Welsh, John Rogers and Alexander Hanna. (Washington County will book volume 5, page 277) Joseph Pyles, written Aug. 21, 1832, probated Sept 12, 1834. He mentions his only son Thomas Pyles, eldest daughter Susannah, son-in-law Levi Wherry, youngest daughter Sarah Buchanan and her husband William Buchanan, and nephew Alexander McElroy. Witnesses were Joseph Gilcrest, William Rolston, and John Gilcrest. (Washington County will book volume 5, page 141) I have the abstracts of these wills: Susan Pyles of Hopewell, written May 17, 1844, probated July 20, 1847, mentions Joseph Pyles, James Pyles, Sarah Buchanan and Thomas Pyles (Washington County will book volume 6, page 496) Joseph Pyle of Cross Creek, written Nov. 19, 1845, probated Feb. 10, 1846, mentions wife Margaret and brother James Pyle. (Washington County will book volume 6, page 417) Thomas Pyles of Hopewell, written Jan. 14, 1843, probated Feb. 21, 1843, mentions Joseph Pyles, James Pyles, Thomas Pyles, William Pyles, Sarah and Robert Buchanan, father Joseph Pyles(deceased), sister Sarah Buchanan and her children Robert and William Buchanan. (Washington County will book volume 7, page 150) Maybe one of these will give you a clue. Dawn myers@netwalk.com
