    3. Hi, The following is a letter I received from someone several months back and thought I would share it with the list. Becky Pyle ********************************************************************* On the tombstone of Ruben and Rachel (Boyce)Pyle, in the Allen graveyard, 10 mi. north of McConnelsville Ohio, it reads that they came from Chester Co Pa. in the spring of 1819 to Muskingum C, Ohio. The 1790 census of Pa. shows a Pyle family and a Boyce family living in adjacent townships in Chester Co., Pa. Ebenezer Pyle in West Caln twp. with 4 boys and 2 Girls: Hezekiah Boyce with 5 girls. It is possible that these are the parents of Ruben and Rachel. Robert, Nicholas, and Ralph Pyle came from England in 1683 and settled at Bethel, just west of Chester Pa. This may be a link Ruben and Rachel bought a farm 3 mi SE of Gaysport Oh. Issac Newton Pyle was born there in 1823, an only son who inherited the farm. He married Matilda Dutro (b. 4/22/1824). Reference is made to children("their children were given little schooling, but kept at home to work on the family farm"), however only one son James Dutro Pyle (b. 2/27/1855) was listed in the history handed down to me. He married Alice Mathews, granddaughter of Dr. Increase Mathews. James is the father of my Great grandmother Olive Grace (Pyle) Bartlett. **************************************************************
