Well, now with at least two revelations of the Wiltshire/ John Pyle/ Mary Withers connections. I wanted you to know that this July, I visited the church in Bishops Cannings and the crypt with John and Mary still stands at the first grave site behind the alter. It's breathtaking and charming in that area. Just up the road the "white horse" that was commissioned by John's son Robert Pyle (brother to the Nicholas that you cite) is highly visible. (and I hope you all know the story of the thieving runaway artists is still alive and well repeated among the local villagers). I was awed and stunned as I approched the graveyard to witness a wedding of major proportions exiting the church. This was truely an experience I'll never forget. To have walked on the very grounds of my own ancestors of so long ago.
