"One Nicholas Pyle, whose family came from England, is known to have been married during the Revolutionary War to Anna Black. They lived in South Carolina, where some of their children were born. Then they removed (on pack horses) to Kentucky, where the rest of the children were born. They had fourteen sons and five daughters. When they were quite old they settled with their two youngest sons, in Sangamon County, IL." 2.
