Roberta; I think that it may be possible that Martha was the grandaughter of Francis Malone, I just can't documennt it at the present time. I'm familar with the facts presented in the Pyle/Pile family book that reports that The property of William Malone in Eugene Twp. passed from William Malone to Robert and Martha Malone Pyle (my gg-grandparents), then to Samuel Pyle(g-grandfather of Ernie Pyle) and lastly Chester Arthur Pyle. I have information from my great Grandmother's sister (Margaret Hannaman) who wrote in a letter to California in the late 1850's, early sixtys that Billy Malone was a scalawag because of the things he was saying about the Mack family. Their were a number of Malones that were very successful businessmen in Vermillion county at the time. I have no doubt in my mind that Martha was related in some fashion to most of them, but would like to find some tie to her mother's side of the family. We are very close to putting this all together and I appreciate your response and will respond in kind if I get some new information. Don't you think Martha Malone Pyle | has to be connected to my Francis who also moved to Vermillion Co.? Richard | malone sr. died in 1801. He did not have a son William. His Bible record is | thoroughly known and disseminated. But it seems possible that William could | be a son of Francis. Francis was born 17 jan 1760. If Martha was born in | 1802, there is a chance that she is Francis' grand daughter. Do you know | anything about when William was born? Roberta Hofmann
