Ralph, This Elizabeth Simpson was married to James PILES who died in Orange Co., NC in 1819. After I returned from the genealogy library today this thought struck me. Marriage bonds were required in Orange County, NC and can be researched for the period 1779 through 1868. If we were to look at these for all SIMPSON surnames and inspect those that are married to Elizabeth we probably could come up with the correct man. What do you think? I have put this on my ToDo list for the next time I can do this research. Here is the list that I did get today for PILES/PYLES married in NC as reported in the book: Marriages of ORANGE COUNTY NORTH CAROLINA 1779-1868 compiled by Brent H. Holcomb published by Genealogical Publishing Co., Inc., 1983. I will list the bondsman only if it is a similar name. Let me know if you need the complete list. Is this new data to you or do you have the miaden name of Elizabeth? If this looks like a "hit" where do we go from here to verify this? Marc
