Someone else may get a clue to an ancestor from reading the exchange of notes. If you have a message for someone of a personal nature, then you would certainly want to send that privately. Please do not send attachments to the list because there has been a problem with that on some servers. If you have a document that is too large to do a cut and paste, then post a description of it to the list to see who might want it sent directly. I can arrange to have information stored on a server for retrieval, just let me know.
