Mother was Martha Esther ROCHESTER. Abner was married four times. He died on 03 Feb. 1847 in Laurens Co.,SC. Abner's first wife was: Elizabeth SHACKLEFORD,b. 1779,d 14 April 1806. She was the dau of Richard SHACKLEFORD, Sr. and Mary Ann ROBERTS. Elizabeth was born in Halifax, VA and died in Laurens, SC. Abner's and Elizabeth's children were: Matildy Pyles, b. 13 Jan. 1799, marr. Jessie TEAGUE 15 July 1819. She died 08 Sept. 1829. All of this in Laurens, SC Lewdy Pyles, b. 16 Feb. 1800, married Agatha Louise BLACK in 1825. He died 25 Nov. 1825. All in Laurens, SC Milton Pyles,b. 04 April, 1802 in Laurens, SC. Marr. Ephigenia WOMACK in 1852 in Yazoo Co., MS. He died in 1879 in Benton, MS. Addison Pyles, b. 31 Oct. 1803, only ests for other dates at this time. His children were Newton Cyrus Pyles, b. 01 July 1839. Willis C. Pyles.b. 27 Sept. 1841, Walter Abner Pyles, b. 08 Oct. 1844. No info on wife. Newton Pyles, b. 11 April, 1805 in Laurens, SC, died 1877. Some records show Dr. Lewdy Pyles as being his father. Newton marr. Permelia C. GARY and Permielia Frances MCDOWELL. Will post this separately. After Elizabeth died, Abner married Pamelia MITCHELL, b. 1788, d.1807 in Laurens, SC. They had one son, William Henry PYLES, b. 1807, lived only 17 days.
