Rita, Here are two sources of Grandpa's notes: Pile/Pyle of America by Howard T. Pyle - pages 2 and 7: (in part) Isaac Pyle, b.ca 1721 in Marlborough, Chester Co. PA. died 11-8-1794 He married Elizabeth Darlington on 9-21-1750 at Birmingham Meeting. The info about Nicholas Pyle (1748-1829) who moved to Christian Co., Ky on pack horses seemed almost verbatim from "The Pyle Family History, 1594-1954" by Lela Livingston. This book is on microfilm # MC 2 294 and was filmed Feb 1966 by ? Genealogy Society. Howard Pyle used this book as a source also. Grandpa must have taken notes as I do, bits and pieces here and there (and sometimes forget to write down where/when I got them) I've about given up on those illusive Pyles that I've been chasing; I'm now going back to square one and starting over! Anyone out there have any clues in S.C. and GA on a Samuel and John Pyle both born ca 1770-74? John married Mary Maxwell and Samuel married Charity Eason and both families were in Oglethorpe Co., Ga by 1800. I've not seen anything from this group on the Samuel Piles they called the Indian Trader in south GA and Fla. Anyone have a clue? Doris
