Around 1740, Samuel Pyles married Sarah Upham from Charleston, SC. They settled in St. Augustine, FL, and Samuel became a major trader with the Creeks in Georgia. They also acquired some land in Glynn Co, GA, and their children settled there. Some of their descendants settled in Brazil after the Civil War.
