Adopted by Thomas Piles and Mariah Riley. May have been their grandson, the son of Daniel Mitchell Pyles and Mary Catherine Miller. Drowned in the Monongahela River on 12 August 1905. Married Grace B. Townsend on 5 Oct 1890 in Wirt County, WV. Four children. 2. Clarence Andrew Pyles, b. 12 Aug 1891 in Catawba, Marion Co., WV. Married Rose Adella Leonberger 12 Aug 1916 in Marion Co. Two children. Died 1 April 1969 in Rockwood, Somerset Co., PA. 3. Eleanor Genevieve Pyles, b. 26 June 1923 in Catawba, Marion Co., WV. Married Thomas Jefferson Shuff on 22 April 1950 in Fairmont, Marion, WV. Three children. Eleanor Pyles Shuff is my mother-in-law, currently living with her husband in Pensacola, Florida.
