I have came | from a little book that belonged to Fannie Ruth Pile. In this book it | shows Benjamim born in Virginia. Charlene; Benjamin Pile was the son of Richard Pile and Elizabeth Sprigg. They were first cousins and were married in Prince George County Maryland. Richard was born 2-9-1726 and Elizabeth was born 5-21-1728. Elizabeth was the daughter of Col. Edward and Elizabeth Pile Sprigg. The info from the Pyle book doesn't say where in Va. that Benjamin was born but says he was born 12-3-1766 and died 5-9-1824 and was buried at Road Ryn, north of Springfield, Washington County, Kentucky. Their children were: 1. William Pile, born 9-11-1791, d 11-18-1850 and married (1) Mary Barlow (2)Elizabeth Slayton. 2. Rebecca Pile, b 5-13-1793, m 9-6-1809 to Jacob Barlow 3. Samuel Pile, b 8-25-1725, m 9-4-1820 to Nancy Ellison 4. Richard Pile, b 7-21-1797 in Washington Co. Ky., d 8-14-1826 in Indiana, m 10-26-1819 to Margaret Barlow. After Richard's death shhe married Isaac White and had seven children by him. Richard and Margaret had 4 children. 5. Elizabeth Pile, b 10-31-1799, m 7-28-1817 to John Parrott 6. Benjamin Pile, b 10-25-1801in Washington Co. Ky., m Rhoda Weathers 2-28-1825. He was married 3 times, but had eight children by his first wife 7. John Pile, b 10-30-1803, m Jan. 1828 to Lucy Curtsinger. 8. Nancy Pile, b 11-26-1805in Washington Co. Ky., m 2-28-1825 to Isaac Weathers. 9. Joseph Van Meter Pile, b 2-8-1808 in Washington Co. Ky., m (1) Elizabeth Bland.Date of bond in Washington Co. was 6-16-1829 (2) Mary E. Phillips on 12-3-1835. Mary was born 1816, d 1892. Elizabeth was 15 years old when she married Joseph. Elizabeth and Joseph had three children. Joseph and Mary had 11 more. 10. Susan Pile, b 7-31-1811, m Stephen Wright The Plye Book by Howard Pyle is it a book that can be purchased somewhere? Charlene, the book is out of print, but can be found at almost all of the major archives or Libraries. I found a copy at the Sutro Library in San Francisco.
