Hello Anita, A while back I passed on to you what I could about Joshua PILES of Iredell Co NC and Marion Co IL (died there c1829). I believe Joshua was a son of Richard PILES and Rachel ____ (who appear as husband and wife in an Iredell Co NC land record). Your posting indicated your belief that Rachel's maiden name was TEMPLETON. That seems entirely possible, since the PILESs bought part of a John TEMPLETON tract in Iredell Co NC in the early 1790s, and they lived side-by-side into the early 1800s. I'm hoping you can give me a quick reading on the source of the belief that Rachel was a TEMPLETON. This is my direct line (Rachel was my 7G-grandmother), and I'd love to be able to bounce back in time that one generation. Hoping to hear from you. Jim Smee Pittsburgh PA
