Perhaps this is a good time to point out that there was a large number of Pyle families living in Devon, England and which can be researched certainly back to the 1600's and earlier. Exeter library holds many records of these families. These records cover Exeter and the villages of Devon. Most of the families were involved in agriculture and when times were hard many left for the US from Bristol and Cardiff especially in the late 1800's. For some reason these families seem to be ignored in favour of the Wiltshire records but are certainly worth looking into. Kristin. Kent. UK
