Louis was a licensed butter and cheese maker who managed the 300 cow dairy for Carr and Haggin in Bakersfield, Ca. Aunt Fanny was born on April 6, 1861 in Dixon, Solano County, Ca. She was the daughter of William Pyle and Mary Mack Pyle. William and his brother came to Ca. in 1852 and Mary Mack followed with other members of her family in 1854 by crossing the Isthmus of Panama. William and Mary Pyle were the great Uncle and Aunt of war correspondent Ernie Pyle Louis and Fanny Pyle had one son, Louis Jr. who was born in Bakersfield, Ca. on January 25, 1905.
