STEPHAN BLAIR PYLE, 45, passed away on July 13, 2000, at Park Plaza Hospital, in Houston, Texas. Stephan was born on March 23, 1955, in Marshall, Texas, to Col. Clifton Pyle and Frances Lucille Blair Pyle. Stephan graduated from High School in 1973, from San Marcus Baptist Academy, in San Marcos, Texas. He graduated at the top of his class, from Commonwealth College of Mortuary Science, in Houston, Texas, as an exceptional licensed funeral director and embalmer. He was also a licensed clinical instructor and worked with the mortuary school students. He was a member of Psi Sigma Eta, the National Morticians Fraternity and received several scholastic achievement awards. Stephan was an avid sailor, as well as licensed pilot. He loved to spend his days off sailing his 27' Pearson Yacht. Stephan's exuburance for life was shared by his many friends and loved ones. His love and compassion showed in his work and for his three Golden Retrievers, Christopher, Toby and Morgan. Stephan is survived by his parents, Col. and Mrs. Clifton Pyle of Temple, TX., two sisters and brothers-in-law, Donna and Bob Galvan of Marshall, TX., Susan and Bill Vitek of Waco, TX. Two nieces, Julie Vitek Keith and husband Jason, of Plano, TX. Kathy and Joe Adams of Longview, TX., nephews, David Blair Galvan of Marshall, Eric Vitek of Waco, TX., Rob and Patty Galvan of Alexandria, LA., and his life partner, business partner, and best friend, Dewey Staton, Jr. Pallbearers will be Bob Galvan, David Galvan, Bill Vitek, Eric Vitek, Jason Keith, David Greenshaw. Stephan's family would like to express their gratitude to the Doctors and nursing staff at Park Plaza Hospital and the South Hampton Medical Group for their compassion and professionalism. Graveside services will be held at the Salado Cemetery, Salado, Texas on Monday afternoon, July 17, 2000.
