Hi Connie, If you're related to Ernie Pyle, then you're also related to the Coonrod Pile/Pyle family of TN!! I believe Ernie Pyle is a direct descendant of that family. I have a book about the Pyles from TN and if you're interested I can tell you who Ernie Pyle's folks are etc. They spell the name different than now though, it got changed from Pile to Pyle. And that's what makes the search so difficult. I have census records that are spelled Pile and then got changed in the late 1880s. I have been researching the same family and am somehow related, just can't make that final connection either. :( Nancy Pyle Oregon -----Original Message----- From: Connie Carnes [mailto:ccarnes@horizonview.net] Sent: Friday, March 12, 2004 12:55 PM To: PYLE-L@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [PYLE] Pile/Pyle Family Research in England Hello Fran, I have a John Pyle born abt 1815 in Ross County, OH. He married Elizabeth Dresback born abt 1818 in Ohio, and married 31 December 1835 in Ross Co., OH. I have 8 children born to them. I think Ron Pyle may also have this info. I doubt if it's your John, as I have totally struck out trying to connect to anyone on this Pyle forum. My William came from PA to Ross County, OH, and my husband comes down from him thru: Harrison, Robert Newton, Given Elwood, Beatrice Pyle Carnes, then my husband, Don E. Carnes. Just can't seem to connect to anyone. We do know that my husband Don, is third cousin once removed to Ernie Pyle, the WWII War Correspondent.
