    3. Steve, Please count me in also. I have not participated much, because I know that my Pyles came to Ross County, OH from PA in 1805, and William was the only one that stayed. I have read all of the msgs that have come to me, but can't seem to connect to anyone. Nevertheless, I want to be in on this information. Thank you for including me. Connie Carnes wife of Don E. 3. Hi, Nancy, I think this whole web site is looking for William Pyle! I hope I can help you. This is what I have so far on my husband's William: 1. William1 PYLE was born 1776 in PA, and died 23 April 1859 in Ross County, OH. He married Mary Elizabeth JONES in VA, daughter of Abraham JONES and Phereby ENTREKIN. She was born 1778 in VA, and died 03 October 1859 in Ross County, OH. Notes for William PYLE: Although William was a native of PA, as the History of Ross County says: "when young, he accompanied his parents into VA where he grew up and married...In the early years of the last century, long before there were railroads or canals in OH, and when the pioneers had to break trails through the woods and when both forest and stream abounded in game and fish that were relied upon to supply the tables with meat, William PYLE started from VA for their new western country....he made part of the journey by river and the rest by team. Arriving in Harrison Twp of Ross County , he secured a tract of Government land, building a cabin in the midst of the woods." Years of toil enabled him to clear up a good farm, and he and his family experienced all the hardships as well as the pleasant features of life in this raw new country. He remained on his farm until his death. His wife was Mary Janes (Jones) , a native of VA." (Land records state that William bought land in Ross County, OH in 1806); Possible brothers were Oliver PYLE who on 29Feb1808, in Ross County, OH married a Nancy JONES - and Nelson PYLE b. 1782, VA. William moved to a farm in Springfield Twp., Ross County, OH.
