    3. Never believe an email that asks you to delete a file. The jdbg.exe is a legitimate debugger file for Java, and is installed with windows. It is probably not important to most of us. Sometimes these hoaxes talk people into deleting files that are important. In future, either ignore the request, or go to google and do a search for the file. The response you get back will explain the hoax and the file. This hoax has been around for months. --Stephen Pile ----- Original Message ----- From: Sara Pyle<mailto:pyle@airmail.net> To: PYLE-L@rootsweb.com<mailto:PYLE-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, March 14, 2004 2:24 PM Subject: [PYLE] HOAX- do not delete file I know that Carl meant well, but the e-mail he just sent regarding the jdbg.exe is a malicious hoax that he received from someone else and believed. The file in question is actually a part of the windows operating system. DO NOT delete that from your machine. This is why that I ask that "warnings" not be sent to the list, almost all of them are a hoax. Please stay up to date on the real things and do not send this type of warning to the list. 3. Additionally, I wanted to add..... if there is a virus out there, our list managers will let us know about it. They maintain the e-mails sent and the archives. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Stephen Pile" <spile@msn.com> To: <PYLE-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, March 15, 2004 7:47 AM Subject: Re: [PYLE] HOAX- do not delete file > Never believe an email that asks you to delete a file.
