It would be very helpful if some of you in England who have access to ships records could post names, dates, etc. of those departing for US and Canada in the early years...1700's or before. I haven't been able to find any trace of when the southern families came since there were no ships records kept at any of the southern ports that early. (if indeed they came that way). I'm especially interested in those coming to Savannah, Ga. after 1735, i,e., after the two ship loads that Gen. Oglethorpe brought over. We know ours were not in Oglethorpe's Colony. John and Samuel were in Oglethorpe County in the late 1700's. Someone in our family mistakenly thought CO meant COLONY instead of COUNTY; but they are not listed in the records as being there. Any suggestions?... Doris
