    3. Hi Doris, Henderson Pile (Pyle when he died) died in 1899 in Nebraska City. I have his obit. He was born in Fentress Co. TN in 1819, married in 1840, we know not where, to a Dorothy Westbrooks. NOt sure of time frame. I just read somewhere that a Pile had gone to TX. I show a Johnson Pile, born in TN, supposedly went to TX in 1849. Don't know if he's related or not. I have to move my search elsewhere as I'm not finding anything in TN. And I know there were Pyle's in TX. Nancy :) -----Original Message----- From: Doris Haynes [mailto:dhaynes@door.net] Sent: Thursday, April 29, 2004 7:59 PM To: PYLE-L@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [PYLE] Re: Pyle families who settled in Southern Illinois Do you show a Henderson Pile/Pyle in your line? I find him on the 1860 census in Otoe Co., Neb and 1870 in Fremont Co., Iowa. I can't find him by any Pile/Pyle spelling on 1800 - 1930. Do you know the names of the ones who came to Texas and approximate timeframe? Doris in Texas ==== PYLE Mailing List ==== Have you posted recently? Copyright 2004 Poster retains copyright

    3. I have been searching for years for the family of my Pile/Pyle ancestor who settled in Texas in about 1849. He came from TN with family and friends and wound up in Harrison Co., Tx. He was in the 1850 census in Marshall, Harrison Co., Tx. His name was Sidron/Cedron Pile/Pyle and he was born in about 1802 somewhere in Kentucky. He married the first time (unknown). They were in Alabama for the 1840 census with no children listed. Then they moved into Tennessee and had three children: William Milton Pile, b 1840 in TN Sarah Etta Pile, b November 18, 1845 in TN, m. Robert Hudson 1859 in Harrison Co., TX Milo Smith Pile, b July 24, 1847 in TN, m. Letha A. Bunch in 1867, he d June 19, 1933, Rusk, Cherokee Co., TX 1st wife either died after the birth of Milo, or they divorced, because by 1849, Sidron/Cedron had remarried. This time to widow Juliann Boswell Freeman. Their children, born in TX, were: Thomas C. Pyle, b abt September 12, 1849 Rufus R. Pyle, b July 4, 1854 in Harrison Co., TX., m Harriet Rachel Barton in Rusk Co., TX and moved to Upshur Co., TX., he d July 23, 1920 in Upshur Co. If someone can give me any information about any of these people, I would really appreciate it. 3. Several Piles/Pyles of the Conrad/Coonrod Pile line would up in Texas, but I have no record of a Henderson Pile. For what its worth: "Johnson Pile was born in Tennessee [1809], but was reared and grew to manhood in Indiana [moved there 1818], where he received his education. He settled on a farm in Adams County, Ill., in 1826, and in 1849 went to Texas; thence, in 1865, to Franklin County, Ark., where he bought a large farm and remained until his death, in 1882, at the age of seventy years. He was an active and consistent member of the Methodist Episcopal Church, South. Mrs. Delila Pile, who was a native of Christian County, Ky., died in 1840, the mother of seven children, of whom six are now living. In 1842 Johnson Pile married Nisbia Brown, a native of Kentucky, by whom he had seven children, four now living. His wife died in 1870." (from History of Franklin County, AR) One of his sons (and my great grandfather), David B. Pile, was born in Illinois (1833), and moved to Texas in 1857, and moved to Arkansas in 1866. Stephen Pile
