Did you mean to say that she was born in 1829? Jim and all, I was about to send a correction to the list. Mary was born in 1805. She was 76 years, 4 months and 10 days old when she died. She was married in 1829. I took my info off of a spreadsheet I had created and got off the Fairfax and Mary line and on to the line below. Is there census information to support that? I would have to assume she married Fairfax PELL before 1850, since she does not appear in (her mother) Nancy FORTNEY PILES' Preston Co. household in 1850. I have not worked the Pyles / Piles line very much and the only census I have checked in Preston Co. was for my FAIRFAX & PELL lines. I am just now starting on my additional lines. Does her 1881 death record actually state she is the daughter of Hunter and Nancy, or do you have other proof of that? Her death certificate states that her father was HUNTER PILES mother NANCY PILES. ( the certificate uses the PILES spelling yet her tombstone uses the PYLES spelling) My family records have always had it spelled PYLES. There is also a difference in her age and date of death on the tombstone. It has she died April of 1885 and that she was 81 years old. Till I have further info I am using the death certificate dates. Hope this isn't too many questions at once. I'd really just like to confirm the 1829 birth date. >> No problem, we all have to question each other so we question ourselves and double check our info. There is enough info out there that is not correct without our adding to it. If anyone has any further info on FAIRFAX & MARY PYLES/PILES PELL please share.
