The 1850 Preston Co VA census has (presumably) him as age 29 (born c1821) with (his mother) the widow Nancy PILES. And I believe someone reported (in that SQUIRES Family History by GILCHRIST) that his badly deteriorated tombstone with the death date 1860, age 41 years or something like that, had been found recently (in the late 1980s?) at Fairfax Cemetery. Don't know where the 1794 date for Elijah in the PYLE Book came from but I think it's wrong.
