Dear Dan; I am not sure where my ggg-grandfather William descended from. I have documentation back to Robert Pyle born in Va. in 1800. the Pyle/Pile book says that William born 1775 in Pa. was his father. My great-grand mother tells us in her history that Gg-grandfather Robert was born in Pa. and moved to Ohio as a child. So I'm reserving my thoughts about William born in 1775 until I see more proof. I believe that Francis Pile and Richard Pile were close and I'm leaning toward Francis's line as the root to our branch of the tree. The fact that my great-grandfather William and his brother Samuel were close to Edward Gant Pyle after he move to San Jose makes that case a little stronger in my eyes. Thanks for the response.
