My great-grandfather James Pyle was born in Lawrence County, PA in 1839. I have yet to find his parents. the 1850 PA census has a James Pyle, age 10 living with a Mathis Shafer. James had a brother Martin and a sister Catherine. Catherine married a Peter Miller.
