Treece, You posted something about a couple of Carter S(cogeris) PYLE ancestors. This isn't my line, but I'm aware that in the 1850 Carroll Co AR census (page 151), There is a William PYLE_ household that includes a child Carter S. PYLE (born c1834 IL). On page 152, there's a David PYLE household (eldest son of William, I believe), This William PYLE was born c1801 in (Christian Co) KY and married Hannah STANDLEE (born 1805 KY, died 1876 Dade Co MO). William died in 1875 in Dade Co MO. I haven't verified much of this personally. It's just what I've collected in LDS records and from some archived queries from this Rootsweb list. I believe William can be traced back quite a few generations: His father William PYLE married Elizabeth KIRBY. Grandfather John PYLE married Sarah BRASHEAR, etc. I believe there are folks on the PYLE list who know this history. Can you tell me when your greatgrandfather ("Hib") was born, and when his father Carter was born? I'd be curious to know if you've made a connection. Jim Smee Pittsburgh PA
