Hello Leslie, Would it be possible to identify Hib's step-father and the siblings in the 1880 Dade County MO listing? Information on the PYLE siblings in particular (ages and places of birth) would give some clues as to when Carter married, when he died, and where the family was living (e.g., was there a KS connection). Hi-- Hib's stepfather's name is Marion Swingle. I think they were married in Cedar County, MO--but I haven't confirmed this. Two other siblings were listed Clara L. and Donmont. Clara was 14 years old and born in Kansas per the census. I think her middle name was Lake and she married a man whose last name was Farmer. Donmont was also born in Kansas and was 10 years old at the time of the census in 1880. Does this bring any thoughts to anyone? I am finding these questions and answers very helpful!
