I knew some of the Pyles from Hampshire County went out there and also Heare's, Ruckman's and others. Cedar County, Missouri, is the right area - - - several Ruckman and Capt. John H. Piles settled in that area also. I'm trying to remember the young fellows who were driving cattle in a snowstorm there. One was on foot, got lost in the storm and froze to death. Now that was a winter.
