My greatgreatgrandfather William Pyle b.15Mar1832 married Mary Jane Holstein 14Dec1854. I don't have a birth date for Mary Jane but she died 30May1867. William died 11Dec1900. This was in West Chester Pennsylvania. William and Mary Jane had three children Alfred b. 06Sep1856, Elizabeth b. 1857, Hannah b. 1860. Alfred was a carpenter by trade married Annie Massey Smedley on 28May1863 and had three children Stella b. 28Jul1884, Leroy b. 14Feb1886, Fred b. 05Apr1891, and Elizabeth b. 20Jul1896. Leroy was my grandfather. Now here is my main question. Thus far, I have not been able to go back any farther in this line than William Pyle. I just received some information (anecdotal) from my aging Uncle who tells the story of two Pyle brother who were in the British army and fought in the Revolutionary War. After the war they came back to the U.S. and one settled in Pennsylvania and one in Georgia. This was all news to me but it does correspond to the Pennsylvania origin of my greatgreatgrandfather. I have never had any previous information on a Georgia family line. Does anyone out there have a similar story in their line in either Pennsylvania or Georgia? It is a pretty neat story and should stand out if someone has already heard it or has been able to link it to their research. Also, any advice on how to further pursue this would be most appreciated. Okay, Here's my question. Should I post my family genealogy on the Internet? Why? I can't decide what to do. Please help. Sandy
