    1. Re: [PYLE] cemeteries in T.B., Md.
    2. RE: Maryland cemeteries At last, a possible link to my ancient strain of the family--you will find the occupants of the cemetery among the 3 (-4?) lines listed below. I am thrilled at long last to notice a possible connection to my line of my family! My brother and I happened to spend 3 days in Waldorf, MD. last year and--between sightseeing in DC---picked up considerable family data and many vibes (if you'll excuse this apparently antiquated expression). Here is my source: Early Families of Southern Maryland, Volume 1 Revised p. 97 "Early Settlers of Maryland" by Skordas, has three entries for men by the name of Pile.... Francis Piles, Sr. (1660-1727) property: CUCKOLD'S POINT, Calvert Co. purchased 1671 from Ninian Beall purchased CROOME Prince George's County April 20 1701 from Charles and Deborah Ridgley Dr. Richard Pile (1678-1731) [I have posted his will & other documents on this site in the past year or two} Prince George's County, MD "...Most of the people mentioned in documents relating to Dr. Pile lived along Beaver Dam in Western Branch Hundred of Prince George's County. The area is now know as Cheverly, a suburb of Washington, D.C...." children of Dr. Richard Pile m. widow Mary Belt Fowler June 5, 1969 London 1-1 Richard Pile b. February 9, 1726/7 This is my line, and it winds up in Washington County, Kentucky in 1780s, Adair County, KY in 1800s and connects with Daniel Boone line through marriage of William Bird Pile and Hannah Boone Pennington. Everyone in this line seems to be Pile singular. 1-2 William Pile b. April 3, 1729 This line also winds up in Kentucky and is DAR connection 1-3 Mary Pile nothing known about her John Pile (___ -1676) The Catholic Pile "...and Benjamin Gill immigrated with their families [?] to St. Mary's County in 1642..." [conflicting information here] Property: Salisbury (named after the town he came from in England?) Early Families of Southern Maryland, Volume 1 Revised by Elise Greenup Jourdan Family Line Publications Rear 63 East Main Street Westminster, MD 21157 (800) 876-6103 I have also recently come up with new info regarding a mysterious Thomas Pile (whose cattle mark was registered October 19, 1685 Liber IKL, p. 2) that seems to put him as an adult in Maryland in 1669: I found him at: <http:homepages.rootsweb.com/~evekinn/Slye_1html Robert Slye's property, Lapworth, was surveyed August 16, 1669 "at a bounded tree of Thomas Pile..." Please let me hear from you if you know anything further about these First Families.
