    1. [PYLE] James Pyles and Lydia MAGEE Pyles
    2. Mark Milligan
    3. Hi, I am looking for information on James Pyles and Lydia MAGEE Pyles. James Pyles was born about 1818 in PA and Lydia was born about 1822 in PA. They married on 26 Mar 1840 in Jefferson Co, Ohio. James and Lydia appear in the US census, Washington Co from 1850-1880. James Pyles and Lydia MAGEE Pyles had a daughter Nancy Pyles who was born about 1842 in OH. She died on 12 Apr 1897 in Midway, Washington Co, PA. She was buried on 14 Apr 1897 in Raccoon Cemetery, Candor, Washington Co PA. Nancy married Joshua Green Pyle son of Joshua Pyles (9 Feb 1790 - 28 Nov 1873) and Mary Ann Houston (17 May 1792 - 19 Mar 1875) about 1864. Joshua was born on 1 Nov 1832 in Raccoon, Washington Co, PA. He died on 17 Jul 1908 in Midway, Washington Co PA. He was buried on 19 Jul 1908 in Candor, Washington Co, PA. I suspect that this James Pyles may be the son of James Pyles (c1770-died after 1830, possible Jefferson Co OH) who was the brother of Joshua Pyles (9 Feb 1790 - 28 Nov 1873). If anyone can provide any additional insight on this information it would be greatly appreciated. Till later, Mark Milligan

    1. Re: [PYLE] Wilson and Pyle connection
    2. Hi Nancy, Sorry to say I have no Pyle's in those two area's. It seems that most male Pyle's of this family petered out in Warren Co. IA. Many female Pyle's of this family married and had descendants scattered over the USA. I am a professional researcher and would be glad to help you on your Pyle search. I am doing a book on my Pyle family and hope to have it printed. I do have a large Pyle file and will look and see what I might find there in, but don't think I will find anything as nothing sounds familiar. Patrick H. 3. That is correct. That is my direct line. I have photos of Lt William Pile and Lucretia Keyes. After her death, Wm married her sister Nancy who is also buried at his side. Edward had a pretty colorful life, including his brief travel with the Donner Party. I have some documentation on that. His son, Edward Jr. married Mary Ann Graves (survivor of the Donner Party). 3. Wondering if this is from Edward G Pile line. He is buried in San Jose, Oakhill cemetery. Edward G Pile traveled overland 3 times from Ill. His 3rd and last trip was with the Pile/Whiteman party. Also, he traveled with the Donners for a brief time before seperating from the group which was to find themselves stranded in a snowstorm at what is now knows as Donner Pass.....etc. His sone, Edward Pile/Pyle Jr. was a member of a rescue party and married Mary Ann Graves, a survivor of the disaster. Edward G. Pile/Pyle would have been my 3rd great uncle. Dan Pile > > From: Gra8teach@aol.com > Date: 2004/02/11 Wed AM 01:51:24 EST > To: PYLE-L@rootsweb.com > Subject: [PYLE] Edward J Pyle L.A.
