Surnames: PYLE, MCBRIDE, PRIESTLEY, SAYLER Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/VVBBAEB/653 Message Board Post: Seeking info on the family of GEORGE WASHINGTON PYLE and SARA ELIZABETH McBRIDE. My link to this family is through my grandfather, EARL ORA PYLE, born 5/23/1897 in Butler, Bates Co. MO. He died 12/26/1985 in Mesa, Maricopa Co. AZ. He married DOROTHY KATHRYN PRIESTLEY SAYLER in 1932, a young widow with a two-year-old boy JAMES RICHARD SAYLER. In the 1940s, Earl formally adopted the boy, giving him the surname Pyle. Supposedly, Earl was survived by one sister and a brother. Papers found after his wife's death hint that his siblings names may have been ADRIENNE E. PYLE and GLEN E. PYLE. I hope that anyone with any information about any of the people in this message will please contact me.

My grandfather was Earl Ora Pyle, 1897-1985. His death certificate lists his father as George Washington Pyle and his mother as Sara Elizabeth McBride. This George is certainly not the good Reverend, but perhaps a descendant? My grandfather was born in Butler, Bates Co. MO and died in Arizona. He was survived by one sister and one brother whose names may have been Adrienne E. Pyle and Glen E. Pyle. Just started researching my Pyle ancestors. Can you tell me whether or not we're kin?

    3. Anyone out there in Pyle land descend from this couple. No know dates or whereabouts for the couple. Only info is two boys, Elander b. 1870 and Ellison b. 1872. Elander married twice to sisters Mary Etta Wilson and Martha Ellen Wilson. Ellison married the other sister, Ruthey J. Wilson. They were in White Co. IL with the exception of a stint in New Mexico where they went for the health of Mary Etta until her death in 1916. In 1924 Elander married her sister so I'm assuming he came back to IL to do that since her family was there. I'm interested in the Wilson portion. I have not been able to determine which of the many Pyle families in Pennsylvania to which he belongs. He was married to Sarah Small, b. 1821, d. 1849. They had one daughter, Susannah Pyle, b. 1849. Susannah married George Augustus Clark and they are my great-grandparents. Sarah Small was the daughter of John Small and Jane Bevington. The Small (Schmahl) family was from Germany. 3. Hi Ron In the recent post on Pyle, Olive - you mentioned Quote "If you are attending a reunion I would like to send my book "It's a long way from Stonehenge" along. It is a very complete history of the Pyle, Harvey, Mack, Malone, Rea, Doody and the Spangler families plus what they went through coming west. Let me know your address if you are interested." Is it possible to obtain a copy of that book ourselves. I have been unable to find out much about this book elsewhere - your email to contact you directly and your website (ones included in your posts do not seem to work now - costs etc (please remember postage rates to our parts of the globe) Would appreciate these details so that I may send you funds to secure a copy Thanks Jeff & Robyn Pyle www.jeffpylenz.com JdPyle@xtra.co.nz 2282 Main Road SH2. Thanks in advance Mike Pile 15002 Bridgeview Dr. Sterling Heights, Mi 48313 wswpile2@comcast.net -----Original Message----- From: Jeff Pyle [mailto:jdpyle@xtra.co.nz] Sent: Sunday, February 22, 2004 12:29 AM To: PYLE-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [PYLE] "It's a long way from Stonehenge" Hi Ron In the recent post on Pyle, Olive - you mentioned Quote "If you are attending a reunion I would like to send my book "It's a long way from Stonehenge" along. It is a very complete history of the Pyle, Harvey, Mack, Malone, Rea, Doody and the Spangler families plus what they went through coming west. Let me know your address if you are interested." Is it possible to obtain a copy of that book ourselves. I have been unable to find out much about this book elsewhere - your email to contact you directly and your website (ones included in your posts do not seem to work now - costs etc (please remember postage rates to our parts of the globe) Would appreciate these details so that I may send you funds to secure a copy Thanks Jeff & Robyn Pyle www.jeffpylenz.com JdPyle@xtra.co.nz 2282 Main Road SH2. 3. Hi Ron- Long time no hear. You mentioned Rea in your recent message. I've been trying to track down that family name for years. My Mother's maiden name was Hazel Virginia Rea. Anything you have on the Rea name would surely be appreciated.
