    3. I, too, am interested in the Pyle surname. My connection stems from my Van Meter family, originally of New Jersey, and who spread through VA, PA, and other states. I have a Henry Van Meter marrying both a Hannah Pyle and an Eve Pyle (the latter may have been a widow of that name), while Henry & Hannah's son, Nathan, is said to have married a Mary Ann Pyle. These people are said to have been of the Wheeling, WV area at one time. The only dates I have is that Nathan was b. ca l760, Mary Ann l764. --------------------------------- Do you Yahoo!? 3. - Stephen Pile Jesse W. Pile was Johnson and Delila's first child, he married Gabrilia Permelia Keller in 1854. Following year their first child, Samantha, was born followed by Myra the next year. After moving to Texas they settled in Fannin County near Johnson and Eusybia where a third daughter, Guly, was born in 1858 =their first son George, born Sept, 1859. after several more children, Johnson moved Arkansas, near brothers, Dave and Andrewwhere he settled his family, began to farm land, became a Baptist preacher served as Justice of the Peace. Here near Ozark,Owen Pickney Pyle was born , 1867, 9th child in 13 years of marriage...Owen Pinkney was my grandfather. He died in 1919 I have been unable to go further back than Coonrod and can find no link to either Nicholas Pyle (England) or to Ernie Pyle... 3. Several Piles/Pyles of the Conrad/Coonrod Pile line would up in Texas, but I have no record of a Henderson Pile. For what its worth: "Johnson Pile was born in Tennessee [1809], but was reared and grew to manhood in Indiana [moved there 1818], where he received his education. He settled on a farm in Adams County, Ill., in 1826, and in 1849 went to Texas; thence, in 1865, to Franklin County, Ark., where he bought a large farm and remained until his death, in 1882, at the age of seventy years. He was an active and consistent member of the Methodist Episcopal Church, South. Mrs. Delila Pile, who was a native of Christian County, Ky., died in 1840, the mother of seven children, of whom six are now living. In 1842 Johnson Pile married Nisbia Brown, a native of Kentucky, by whom he had seven children, four now living. His wife died in 1870." (from History of Franklin County, AR) One of his sons (and my great grandfather), David B. Pile, was born in Illinois (1833), and moved to Texas in 1857, and moved to Arkansas in 1866. Stephen Pile
