    3. I believe you have more information than I (I would love to have more names filled in below Ratliff (some list him as Ratcliff). Daniel Pile was good friends with his brother Jacob (my line). They both moved to Indiana in 1818, from Tennessee. They moved to Illinois in 1827, ending up in Adams County. I have that Daniel married Nancy Atkinson, in 1809. They are both buried in Sargent Cemetery in Adams County. The will of Hans Black dated 1806 mentions a son of theirs, Nicholas Pyle. Had Jean also died before this will? Yet the Pyle book states, ..." his will in Orange Co., NC names brother Joseph Pyle, and his son Samuel Pyle, also names brother-in-law, John Hall and his son Samuel Hall." Does ' his son Samuel' refer to Samuel's son or Joseph's son? If he has a son Nicholas, why was he not mentioned? It is quite possible that the Orange County will is Samuel PIKE. Can anyone shed some light on this?

Surnames: Pyle/Allen Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/VVBBAEB/478.1.1 Message Board Post: Ray, We ran into a brick wall in our research of William Pyle and Margaret Allen. The last proved data we have on William is the census of 1850. However, some believe he is buried here in Christian CO. KY, maybe on the old farm in North Christian CO. Seems there was once a small graveyard on the farm. We don't know what happened to Margaret, I believe she died before William and his 4 children came to Christian CO. So my feeling is, she was buried in Sumner CO. TN and William could have been buried with her. We can not find his fathers name, which would be great...do you have it? William Pyle is my great great grandfather. His son David Monroe Pyle is my great grandfather; David's son John Harmon Pyle is my grandfather; John's son Ennis Monroe Pyle is my father. I think we have been in touch before. I have some information on Mary E. Pyle, I think I have already shared that with you. I enjoy hearing from my relatives and would love to make a connection with my William Pyle Ancestors in my lifetime! Always willing to share! My email address is still the same, use it if you have any questions. George of KY

Surnames: Pyle / Allen Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/VVBBAEB/478.1 Message Board Post: George, I have cut and pasted your request below. You said it so well. I am searching for the parents of William Pyle. I believe he was born in North Carolina in 1805. He married Margaret Allen June 16, 1825 in Sumner County, Tennessee. They had 4 children: David Monroe, Fountain Pitcher, Mary Elizabeth and Joseph F. All of the children were born in Sumner County, TN. William and his 4 children were on the 1850 Census in Christian County, Kentucky. Margaret was not listed. Would like to know what happened to William and Margaret. In 1850 they would have been 44/45 years old. I have lots of informations on their descendants. Would appreciate any leads Your sentiment are exactly the thought we have expressed many times. Mary E. Pyle, the daughter of William and Margaret, is my great grandmother. Her daughter, Saral E. McCord is my fathers mother. Margaret and William, of course, is of great interest to me. We have traced William into Sumner County, Tennessee and can find him and his wife and children in the public school census in 2 or 3 different years. Sadly, though, only William's name is shown in these census records--the wife and children appear only as numbers. I would be happy to share our research with you and would appreciate, in turn, seeing what you have done on these lines. --- Ray Hall (The e-mail address given above is incorrect. My ancestor's children had to leave home at an early age to 1) either help out with the income and work elsewhere or 2) get married and get out on their own. They usually had huge families in those days and probably when they were old enough to earn $ they were out of the household.
