I am hoping to make contact with any descendants of a Peter Pyle who died in DeSoto Parish, LA in 1879, that were included in an Oil & Gas Lease which was dated 1951 on land located in DeSoto Parish, LA, previously owned by him. Children and Grandchildren of my GGGrandmother Sarah Ann (Pyle) White, married to Thomas White in 1849-Floyd Co., GA and moved to Van Zandt Co., TX, in 1870 and died there 1873-1875, were contacted and received a small amount of money for agreeing to that Oil and Gas Lease. We have tried to find our Sarah Ann's connection to Peter & Miriam (Davis) Pyle, but so far have found nothing. Their daughter Sarah Ann born about the same time our Grandmother was, is reported to have married a John W Westbrook by her family members. I am wondering if any of her children or Peter's other children were included in that Oil and Gas Lease?? Does anyone know?? Thanks for any help you can give us on this. Kathy, I should have kept my mouth shut. On the basis of the obituary information, we're looking for a John Henry PYLE (PYLES/PILES) who would have been about 15 years old for the 1850 census, presumably in Virginia (area to become West Virginia), but also possibly Ohio, since he served from there during the Civil War. That is, he was age 93 in 1928, thus born c1835 if my math is right. I've got lots of notes on 1850 VA/WV and Ohio census records, and expected to be able to find your John Henry, but haven't yet. I also looked for him in 1880 using the LDS transcription of that census, but again can't find him. I would still like to help, and am pretty certain I can if you can provide a few more clues. 1. Would you be able to send me a copy of the death certificate you located. I'm pretty good at deciphering "scrawls", and might be able to make some sense of "Brack" (which doesn't make sense). There's a good chance I will be familiar with a given name that this entry was supposed to be, whereas you're going at it cold. 2. Can you tell me where you were able to find John Henry PYLE/PYLES/PILES after his marriage? (year and county and state)? Just for your information: I don't think we're closely related, but I have a consuming interest in researching this surname (for 20 years now), and would like to solve this puzzle. Your going after his military record has a high probability of answering a lot of questions. (I just wish they weren't so darned expensive to order.) I'm hoping that if that is successfully, you'll at least briefly fill me in on what you've learned (but no obligation there). Best wishes. With just a little luck, I'm sure we can figure out who "Brack" was. Hans (X) Black Proved October Term 1807 I am also researching very hard on this family line right now for Hans Black b:1720 Holland & his children. To update anyone, Ann Black, daughter of Hans Black was married to Nicholas Pyle and they had 15 children. Nicholas & his brother, Samuel Pyle were the sons of Col. & Dr. John Pyle of Chester Co., PA & his wife, Sarah Baldwin also of Chester Co. They migrated to Chatham Co., NC; later some of the Pyle families going to Christian Co., KY. Samuel Pyle was married to Jean Black, another dau of Hans Black. Also another dau of Hans was Elizabeth Black who married Lawrence Brashier. They lived in Christian Co and raised their family there. There is another son of Hans named Thomas Black; not to be confused with David J. Black, Sr.'s son Thomas who married Thalia Seaborn in 1809. David's brother Thomas was also speculating and buying land in KY as well as David & the other brothers, John P. and William. If anyone connects to these lines, would love to hear from you as some solid evidence is being found now in SC, NC & KY as well as AR, MO & IL. Sue Meinhart (suemeinhrt@aol.com) Samuel Pyle (son of John Pyle MD & Sarah Baldwin) & Jean had a son named Nicholas who married Mary ? and they had 7 children including Edwin, Polly, Jincy, Benjamin, John F, Elizabeth, Sarah. Thank You, the only reason I have this info is because of a newspaper clipping , celebrating Rosetta's 80th birthday, could anyone get married on a reservation ?I have also checked some of the rolls and could not find them. William Jasper England's father James was also living in Dade County, MO., with wife and family, they were so poor that he and his son went by wagon to OK. and applied to live on a (the) reservation. He was given permission, went home to get the family, and died of a heartattack five miles from home. I cannot find proof though. So I keep looking. The information in the Pyle book was only on Isaac Pyle Jr and his line. My husband is off Isaac son John M. Pyle. The lady that gave the information only gave their direct line, she is the one that got me interested in searching our Pyle line; Shirley
What was found is in the Pyle book. If you can't get to one it will be a few weeks maybe less and I can look up for you. Tammy
I am interested in the information that you listed on Isaac Pyle. Where may I find those records? Isaac is my husbands great great grandfather. I do have the Tax records on West Caln Twp. Chester County, Pa. where they lived before they moved to Indiana in 1826 with his wife's family the Addleman's, I also have the Pyle book written by Howard T. Pyle. Shirley Pyle

Henry Louis Pile is the grandson of Daniel Pile of Orange Co., NC. Henry's parents are Ratliff Boone Pile & Anna Johnson, but the only thing that I know about her is, she was suppose born in KY. They were married in Ill. and after Martha was born, they moved to MO. Henry is the last child.
