Hi there; Just a few words to let you know that I am still searching the Ernie Pyle line. Ernie and I seem to be 2nd cousins twice removed. [His father and my grandfather were first cousins] Anyone needing the outline on this family are invited to ask and I will be happy to share what I have. Ernies great-grandparents went to Texas in 1859 and I have some of their history also. I am also searching for Ronald Pyle's E-mail address, known as Ronaldo Primero, he moved from Maryland not long ago and mutual friends would like to contact him. Thank you for any information that you may have. Ron Pyle Angels Camp, Ca. "Home of the Jumping Frog of Calaveras County."

Perhaps this is a good time to point out that there was a large number of Pyle families living in Devon, England and which can be researched certainly back to the 1600's and earlier. Exeter library holds many records of these families. These records cover Exeter and the villages of Devon. Most of the families were involved in agriculture and when times were hard many left for the US from Bristol and Cardiff especially in the late 1800's. For some reason these families seem to be ignored in favour of the Wiltshire records but are certainly worth looking into. Kristin. Kent. UK
Hi-- I just received further information on A.A. Pyle's mother. Apparently her maiden name was GRANT and she married Marion Swingle 14 March 1874 in Cedar Co. Missouri. I still need to verify this but it fits (so far) with the family lore I have. Hope this further information rings some bells for someone out there. Thanks for your help. Hello Pyle Researchers, Still looking for my Pyle line and I guess I could live with the fact that some aliens dropped my line off with no clue as to their comings and goings but I'm just not satisfied with that so I am going to post again and see if some of the new people on the list might have a connect here. I found Mary Ann's siblings through her obituary but no mention of her parents. I do have a picture of Mary Ann on my web page but it is when she was much older. Still might be able to see a family resemblance. She is under the Colvin line on my pictures page. Descendants of Pyle 1 Pyle ..... 2 Sarah J. I'm looking for any information on the following family. My gg grandparents JW Ducker and Emily Pyle lived in Hopkinsville, Christian County, KY in the 1850's. They died (we think) when their daughter Ella Ducker was about 7 years old. This would be around 1865. They left a family of four children, two boys and two girls. Does anyone have any idea what happened to them. We can't find any information or burial sites for them. It seems like they disapear off the face of the earth. Thank Betsy
Joe, Could you please check your book for Joshua Pyle born in PA/DE @1790. And any information on Robert Pyle and Priscilla PYLE. My Pyle linesat this time are in PA and DE. If you need help on Delaware the State, I be glad to help. Linda

Hi Betsy Roy I may be wrong but I think you are asking where Bishops Canning in Wiltshire is? Please try the web page at www.genuki.org.uk/big/eng/WIL .They may be able to help you further. All my relatives that I have traced so far are from the North East of England. This is a long shot but was John Pyle married to a Mary M Withers ?? The reason is when I was trying to do a search for Bishops Canning using my search engine, MSN Search, It gave me a listing for a John Pyle married to a Mary M Withers. They were in married in 1620 at Bishops Canning. She was Christened in 1604 and died in 1667. If this is information is connected to your John Pyle I will see if I can give you any futher details that may be available. Speak to you soon. Hi-- I am looking for the parents of Audrain Aubrey (nickname Hib) Pyle who was born in either Kansas or Missouri on October 2, 1864. His father died in Kansas while studying law (according to family lore) when Hib was 6 or 7 years old. Hib's mother, Sarah J. ?, remarried Marion Swingle and lived in Dade County, Missouri. I have been able to find Sarah w/ Marion and their children (his, hers and theirs) on the 1880 census but I am now stuck. Hib's death certificate didn't help. Does anyone have any information? Thanks Leslie (Pyle) Franklin
I haven't posted for a while, but since there seem to be some new folks who haven't been able to link their familes to Ralph, Nicholas and Robert I thought I'd pitch in. "Pyle" can be both English and German. There were many German familes of the surname "Pfeil" who immigrated to Pennsylvania and other colonies in the 18th century. Within a generation or so, their surname had been whittled down to "Peil", "Phile", "Pile" or "Pyle". Several of these German descended Pile and Pyle familes removed to the south after the Revolution. A Coonrod Pile (Conrad Pfeil) was an early settler of East Tennessee as was a George Pile (Georg Pfeil). The transformation of "Pfeil" to "Pyle" in America is so common that standard works on German and Palatine genealogy list "Pyle" as an alternate version of "Pfeil". I say all this just to advise those who have been thwarted in their efforts to hook their lines to English families to keep open minds and pursue other dirrections. My family is listed as a "broken line" in the back of the big blue Pyle book. I have since been able to connect the Sullivan County, Tennessee Pyle family with Daniel Pfeil, a Hessian immigrant of 1754. Charles Pyle Richmond, VA

I have the book...but it doesn't make the tie between the northern and southern group well. One can speculate, but not document. Hi all, I am still plugging away at my invisible Pyle. Yes I did see the Pyle/Pfeil German email. But when I was a child my mother told me I was English/Irish/Scottish. So for now I'm sticking with that. If I go too much further and find nothing, I will look into the German side. I just got the SS Admin original application for my mother. It says her father is ADRIAN ROSCOE PYLE. Other documentation says he was born in NJ in 1887. I was told that he died in 1940 in Monmouth Co, NJ. I have asked on the Pyle site about him before, but now I have a middle name. Anyone have any information on him? Both of my parents are deceased. So I can't get any info from them. Thanks for reading my trials and tribulations, and for any light you can shed on them. Sandy
