Hey... Don't worry! Don't give up either. I have been doing this for about two years and just one month ago one of my cousins got online and she has a bunch of info on my Pyle line. Could you send those names again? My other computer crashed and all that info was on it seems like I ran across one of those somewhere. Tammy [email protected]
Treece, I don't have any answers for you, but you might want to include dates and places. I'm guessing 1850's in Kentucky or Tennessee. Frank Pyle
Whoops! I'm a little new at this and often leave out vital info :) I'll post more dates and names later! Hi everyone! My name is Treece Ames and I am researching the Pyle side of my family. I have found many wonderful resources, but still have a "missing link" in my line. My grandmother was Ruth Maie Pyle, her father Aubrey Audrain "Hib" Pyle, mother Emily Adeline Tefertiller. Hib's father was Carter Scogeris Pyle, and that is where my info stops for Hib. Emily Tefertiller's grandmother was Ura Pyle, who had a brother named Carter S. Pyle, so I'm thinking that Hib and Emily may have been cousins; however I can find no info on Carter Scogeris Pyle, so I can't prove this possible connection. I look forward to any info anyone might have on my line, and will share any applicable info with you all! If Leslie Franklin is on this list, please e-mail me at [email protected] tried to e-mail you the other day and it bounced back. I would like to share family information with you!! Have a great day! Audrey If that concord Minn. try writing to the court house in that county and give them that information, there may be a small fee for them to obtain the information, but it will be worth it . that is how I got some of my info. Good luck Don Pyles

Sarah and Jane supposedly married PEIRCE brothers----sons of Caleb PEIRCE and Ann MENDENHALL. Does anyone know ANYTHING about this family? ADW

Hello all, Just joined the list so thought I'd post my PYLES' anscestors. The first I know of in my family is Vincent Godfrey PYLES. He was born and died in Essex County, Virginia. He married Rebecca HARWAR. The only child I know of from this couple is Samuel PYLES. Samuel PYLES died in 1787 in Essex County, Virginia. Don't know when or where he was born but assume it was in Essex County as well since that is where his father was born and died. Samuel married Nancy Anne WILLIAMS in 1746. They had two children that I know of: Reuben and Williamson PYLES. My line continues on down through Reuben PYLES. Reuben PYLES was born in 1742 in Essex County, Virginia and died about 1835 in Abbeville District, South Carolina. The year I have for Reuben's birth is before the date I have for the marriage of his father Samuel PYLES and Nancy Anne WILLIAMS. Either I have a date wrong; or Reuben is the son of a previous wife of Samuel. Reuben PYLES married Hester ROCHESTER on 13 Nov 1770 in Granville County, North Carolina. Children of Reuben PYLES and Hester ROCHESTER include: Sarah, Abner, John, Elizabeth, William, Nancy, Mary, Lewis, Reuben & Esther. My line continues on down through Sarah PYLES. Sarah PYLES was born on 4 Sept 17?? and died 11 May 1841. Places unknown. She married William DODSON. The only child I know of from this marriage in Nimrod DODSON. If this looks familiar to anyone, let me know. Most of this information is what I have received from other researchers over the last 3 years. I don't hold any documented proof of this information but try not to enter anything in my database unless I've had at least 2 sources provide the same info. If something is wrong, please let me know. I found this tip at the Ancestry.com newsletter and thought it to be a pretty good idea. I hope it helps someone out there. If I find an address of a possible family connection that is more than 10 years old, I write "occupant" on the envelope. Then in my letter, the P.S. says, "If you are the occupant (and not the addressee), would you please use this enclosed envelope to send me any information you might have on the whereabouts of the addressee." I have gotten about a 96 percent return rate using this method instead of relying on the post office's "No longer at this address." One person even got the new address for me from a neighbor. Bill on your quest you may want to try looking for marrages in Scioto County Ohio Court house . You may have to go there in person as I don't think they will give that information out over the phone , Or you may write to them Most places may charge a small fee . I got my mother and fathers marrage from our court house ,it contained my mothers and fathers parents names. I hope this will be of some help to you . Don Pyles
I have found Mary Elizabeth Pyle and John E. McCord married February 16, 1854. He died April 15, 1904. They had 10 children. I have most of their data. I am still searching for the parents of her father, William Pyle born 1805 in North Carolina. Married Margaret Allen June 16, 1825 in Sumner County, TN. William was 45 years old on the 1850 Federal Census in Christian County, Kentucky. His children David Monroe, Fountain Pitcher, Joseph F. and Mary Elizabeth Pyle were listed with him. His wife was not with them at this time. All of these children have family connection still in this area, but no one can solve this brick wall. George Christian County, Kentucky

McCord who was born March 18, 1831. I am searching for more information on this family. When and Where did they marry? Were there children in this marriage? Any information will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, George [email protected]
