I've looked at my files, and I think our Rittenhouse connection is different...in my line, Helen Pursel married George Luck Rittenhouse, so it's a female Pursel marrying a Rittenhouse instead of the other way around. Also, I believe that they stayed in Indiana and died long before 1995. However, your Thomas Purcell born in Ireland and his descendents sound quite interesting...my Pursels started in Pennsylvania and another researcher (see subject "Indiana Pursells" on this board) cited a Bucks county, Pa location for what I'm fairly sure is my line. Do you have more information about Thomas born in 1666 and his descendents, particularly those in Bucks County? Who do you descend from? I think there's a link, but not quite sure what it is! Pursell, my great-great-grandfather who immigrated from Purcellville, VA, to the town of Loudon, Adams County, Ohio. Edwin H. Pursell married Rachel Paxson, who was also a resident of Purcellville, VA. One of their sons was named "Voluntine", similar to "Valentine", and their only daugher, Margaret Pursel, my great grandmother, married S.R. Parsons (listed in 1880 U.S Census).
