Thank you all for the Grinnell resources. I am back on line with a new computer. I checked out the Grinnell site mentioned and found it interesting. Hopefully it will be an asset to me as a few more questions are answered. Has any one sent for an Oregon death certificate before? I am going to take the risk to send for one hoping it is the one for my ggrandmother Marie that I mentioned earlier. Having another record with her mother (Grinnell) on it will help I hope. The index I have for this shows the death date but not the age of the person. The death happened after 1924 so the certificate is not available on a real from the FHC. Thanks again, Kathie Broderson
. Has any one sent for an Oregon death certificate before> Hi Kathie: Oregon has a 50 year waiting period on death certificates. There are a few exceptions but best not count on it. They are available cheap and uncertified on the internet. The death index is not subject to the 50 year rule. Try: http://arcweb.sos.state.or.us/reference.html Good Luck.
