    3. Meredith, My mother worked with Ray Heffelfinger. He was vice-president of National Bank of Washington which used to be Pacific National Bank of Washington and then it was First Interstate Bank and is now Wells Fargo. They were working there when Kennedy was shot. She left there in about 1964 and doesn't know how long he worked there after she was gone. She can still remember what he looked like and said he was a very nice man. He was tall, average build, dark hair, wore glasses. I would assume that Ray Heffelfinger is probably related to your family. Have you heard of him? My name is Meredith Mills I live in Tacoma and have many ancestors from this area. I would like to tell you about the family line I am having the most trouble with. I have been working on this for sometime now and have not gotten very far. Charles B. Heffelfinger b. Richland Co., OH. Sept. 20, 1883 is my gr grandfather he is listed in the 1908 Tacoma Directory living at 2720 S. Alaska with the family of my gr grandmother Ruth W. Davis b. Mar. 7, 1893. I have not found a record of there marriage. They had 3 children Clyde B. (my grandfather) b. May 19, 1909 in Tacoma, however Charles and Clyde are not listed on the 1910 census as living with Ruth and her family. Mildred R. b. Apr, 30, 1914 Seattle and Doris b. Sept. 25, 1915 Seattle. Ruth W. married Walter W. Mills 1919 the marriage return says it is her 1st marriage, and the children's names were changed to Mills abt. 1921. Children of Clyde are Dennis B. (my father) and Bonnie neither had ever heard the Heffelfinger name until we started doing research. In doing research we came across an old scrapbook tied with ribbon, a sticker on the front saying "my sordid past, my fathers side of the family no need to research" inside were a few photo's of the Heffelfinger sisters and a receipt for a niche for Charles Heffelfinger's ashes. This belonged to my aunt Mildred who passed in 1984, her only son died in 1961. Now Charles Heffelfingers death cert. shows he d. June 11, 1939 in Seattle, Ruth Davis Heffelfinger is listed as spouse he was cremated, but his ashes were not put in Woodlawn Mausoleum until Dec. 23, 1971 by my Aunt Mildred. Charles seems to have dropped off the face of the earth between 1915 and 1939. I would appreciate and suggestions or possible scenarios you might have. Some of the other surnames I am researching in this area are Darland, Elder, Davis, Mills, McMahon, and Peck. Thank you for taking the time to read this, Meredith
