Dear Janet. Thanks for all your help. Unfortunately I've been travelling and publicity for this event isn't what I had hoped for. Whatever you can do to get the word out in your network would be most appreciated. Feel free to call or email with questions or suggestions. Flora Dalglish, Seattle, WA 206 368-9080 and Cell: 206 300-9582 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: In preparation for Memorial Day, a volunteer community service event is being coordinated by Flora Dalglish of Seattle, Washington for this Saturday, May 17, 2003 at the Old Settlers Cemetery in Lakewood, Washington. Between 9am and 4pm community members, friends and family of descendants of pioneers buried here will have an opportunity to weed and care for the grounds and markers at this neglected cemetery. Quiring Monuments of Seattle, WA has also volunteered to make significant repairs to vandalized monuments and will be on-site between 9 and 11am. Bring a picnic lunch and beverage for a mid-day meal and fellowship with other volunteers. We welcome all who have any interest in or connection to this cemetery. A special dedication will be made at 2pm. There will also be an unveiling of a new family marker. Bring lawn chairs, gardening tools, gloves, water, cleaning brushes, trash and yard waste bags. Also, picnic tables are needed and small American Flags for the veterans graves. Blankets are not recommended due to the ants.
