Hi, I am a new member to this list. I live in SW Portland, Oregon and am researching the following lines. Melvin, Walling, De Moss, Aydelotte, Townsend, Quinn, Reichner, Massey, Earnest, Bernash, Beitz, Russell. My main line starts back in Maryland with William Melvin and Leah Robertson. And then their son Rev Avra Melvin and Catherine Justice Bailey, Next their son Samuel Douglas Melvin and his first wife Elizabeth Broughton. His second wife Sarah Virginia Aydelotte had 7 children. One of their sons Jay Royden Melvin died in 1926 in Seattle, King County, Washington. His wife Sabina Helena EINSTOSS-HOHENTSEIN died in June 1956 in Seattle, King County, Washington. My line continues with Samuel Douglas Melvin and his first wife Elizabeth Broughton. Their son Edgar Nicols Melvin died on 28 Nov 1936 in Rolling Bay, Kitsap County, Washington. I am planning a trip later on this month to the Seattle area and need some information. I would like to know if there is a bus that goes to the Main Library in Seattle from the train station. While at this library I was hoping to research the Seattle City Directories, the Seattle newspapers for death notices and possibly Washington death and marriages notices.
