Dear Gloria, How nice of you to keep trying to contact me. I really do appreciate your efforts; what fine folk genealogist, all, be:-) I am trying to reduce the spam that has frustrated us all so much for so long. It appears that I STILL have not gotten the handle on it and quite all my updated aol has to offer, and I thank you for your perseverance. We recently had info. re. Ensley shared with the family and were so happy to receive it. His ancestors were from the east and I am trying to firm up my DAR application, naming our common ancestor, JONATHAN MELVIN, with help from his LOCKWOOD lines. Jonathan's grandson Milan Morrell Melvin and also his sister Beulah Elizabeth (Melvin) Lockwood more or less came from NY together to OR. The Lockwoods went to Tacoma about 1880 and the Melvins remained in Oregon. Milan and Beulah's mother, Eliza (Wisner) Melvin Pitt apparently went with her daughter, Beulah Lockwood, and was living with a Lockwood m Llewllyn grandaughter at the time of her death. Folks on this list kindly directed me to her death certificate, which sadly, had no new information re. her ancestors, but did name her gravesite. So, my greatest thank you to the helpful, helpful folks on this list, I remain, duh, Phoebe in CA
