    3. AAAHRP INAUGURAL CONFERENCE ANNOUNCEMENT The Association for African American Historical Research and Preservation (AAAHRP) is proud to announce that it is holding its Inaugural Conference on Saturday, February 28, 2004, at the Museum of History and Industry (MOHAI), 2700 24th Avenue E., Seattle, Washington. Historical research exposes us to new knowledge and new interpretations of history. The theme of the conference, "Exploring the Expanse and Continuance of the African American Experience," denotes the Association's desire to create a dialogue among scholars, professional historians, avocational historians, teachers, students, community activists and the public. At the AAAHRP Inaugural Conference you will have the opportunity to "explore the expanse and continuance of the African American experience," as you are presented with in-depth information on a wide range of topics, both familiar and unfamiliar, within the realm of African American history. This is the first conference of this type in Seattle, and an opportunity you don't want to miss! With a knowledgeable Keynote Speaker (Dr.Stephanie Camp), excellent presenters from both the local area and other parts of the nation, and interesting topics, this conference promises to be an exciting and important event. Don't miss this opportunity to explore, to discuss, to question. Anyone who has an interest in African American history will benefit by attending the AAAHRP Inaugural Conference. Conference details and registration information can be found at the "Events" and related pages of the AAAHRP website, www.aaahrp.org. Information can also be obtained by email at contactus@aaahrp.org or by calling AAAHRP at 206-547-5394. I hope to see you at the conference. Please pass this information to colleagues and others who are interested in history.
