    3. Rumors have been passing around about how to access HeritageQuest Online (ProQuest) through our Pierce County Library system, from our home computers FREE!!! AT LAST, I have the correct information! Jeanine Barndt of Heritage Quest Research Library in Sumner, WA shared her knowledge as did Al and Bill with the computer section at Pierce County Library Administration. 1. YOU NEED TO HAVE A PIERCE COUNTY LIBRARY CARD!!! 2. get online on your home computer, and got to the website: http://www.pcl.lib.wa.us Press enter 3. Once at PCL's site, look on the left side of screen and click on Databases/Full Text Press enter 4. Once there, scroll down to 2nd section of Biography, Genealogy and History 5. 3rd on the left HeritageQuest Online (ProQuest) Press enter OPPS! forgot step 6 6. When you press enter at step 5, a new screen appears "Remote Patron Authentication" and asks for the full bar code numbers on the back of your Pierce County library card. Enter all of these numbers without any spaces and Press Login. you are then at the HeritageQuest Online site or should be. If the next screen pops up asking for a use name and password, go back to last screen and press enter again. Whenever that happens it means HeritageQuest Online has a problem at the moment or they are in overload and rejects anymore to the site at this time. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO ENTER A USE NAME NOR A PASSWORD TO ACCESS THIS FREE ENTRY. Just keep trying! I did and was successful! Copied several census extractions including 1930 Sorry everyone!
