Thank you, Marilyn. I went to a service in Chattanoga yesterday. Patriotism is alive and well here. Not everyone that is dead is buried yet, but those of us who are alive can think and make judgments and give thanks. Wait until they run into the Pilgrims! Their images pale in the light of the reality of these true founders of our nation. It is remarkable that the Mayflower Compact was signed the same day as the Armistice. The true glory of the American soldier rested on Alvin York in World War II. And further back, Martin Luther, Germany's temporal saviour, was born on that day. The Lord keeps anniversaries. But many love death. It was noted that it was the 11th day, the 11th month, the 11th hour when the Armistice was signed. Providence defeats Hollywood. But as I said, there are many breathing dead people. They need to be regenerated. Are they ignorant of our soldiers' Saviour? Do they not know that many were saved by the New Testaments Roosevelt furnished them? I have a copy with FDR's charge inside. These little books were a literal bullel-proof shield and guarded the heart of many soldiers. I have heard the testimonies and museums carry these mementos where the bullet pierced the Testament and the man was saved. I don't suppose some people have much education. May you have a true Thanksgiving. If you will write me, I will send you a copy of the original account of the Pilgrims first Thanksgiving which we found at a home school conference. We read it every year in our Thanksgiving service. It is drawn from "Of Plimouth Plantation" written by Gov. Bradford himself in 1620. Write me at 522 Crestview, Dayton, TN 37321 or call 423 775-3796 and I will put you one in the mail. Thanks again for exemplifying the American spirit.
