Box 174 - Snohomish, WA 98290 Available: Upper Case Books 121 Glen Ave., Snohomish, WA. 98290 Phone 360-658-8282. I went there a few moment ago and found new copies only, soft cover at $8.95/vol., St Tx 73 cents + s&h.. $2.50. i.e $17.90 + $1.46 +$2.50 = $21.86 for both vols. COMMENT: This book store a few yrs ago took up only 1/4 of the store space of that group of stores. Today, I was amazed to find that it has expanded to 3/4 of the space and only the health store at the S end of it exists. One of my 6th grade students from way back operated a store at the N end of that bldg as an excellent store for patchwork quilts, consigned needle-work, and infants creative home-made type wear. Twas great to see her as a mother, fine wife, and business lady in her late 30s/early 40s. I'm sure she is still in business closer to he home. This bookstore is huge, now, and is a maze of racks of books. Of course, I had to ck out the gen. section - not like Darilees, but has some pretty good ref sources, that I will probably ck further - like Who's Who's series, and other possible sources for info. Darilee has stopped in there and the proprietor is a friend in the book world. All this atop the Gulch right across the St from where I was born. Glen Ave was not called Glen Ave in my day as a kid there, it was Glen St. - didn't go all the way through then, still doesn't. What used to be called St. is now called Ave. and vice versa. Lakeview Dr. and Lakeview Ave. are exactly the same St. but it depends on the source- The City calls it one, but the Post Office insists it is to be called the other. It is a dead-ended street, but the street sign there says Ave., but the P.O. calls it Drive, or vice versa. Anyway, like many things in Snohomish, conformity is not kosher. PHONICS is even being re-introduced. The last administrator didn't follow through with the "campaign promise". JOHNNY still has trouble reading! ( NOT yours, of course!). * * * 30 * * * ___________________________________________________________________ You don't need to buy Internet access to use free Internet e-mail.
