I think I just did something REALLY stupid! I sent the following information to the List from eBay's "forward" capability. It probably has all sorts of web garbage attached. Oh well. . . It is Saturday. I don't have to think today! Here's the details. (The auction only lasts until about 10:30 Sunday morning PST.) Is it the Bookstore Lady that is related to Pappan line? ----------------------------------------------------------- Kaw Indian Land Deed, Okla. Terr, 1903, RARE Item #59940743 Collectibles:Native Americana:Pre-1940 Description This is a rare Allotment Deed transferring Kaw Indian land, in Okla, Territory, to a white man named Wm. L. Pappan on Nov. 3, 1903. The land was transferred by Wah-shum-gah, head chief of the Kaw, who signed his name with an "x". The United States Indian agent also signed the deed. This is a bit of history revealing the gradual removal of land from the Indians. The Kaw tribe is a small tribe in north central Okla. There is not much history available on this tribe. No credit cards. Add $2 shipping. Don't miss out on owning this bit of history. ------------------------------------ Sounds interesting. There is a picture of the deed, showing Pappan's signature. You can get to eBay at http://www.ebay.com I discovered it by just typing in DEED and hitting SEARCH. Good luck!
